Deusto Business School and IKOR are working together on information and communication technologies linked to Industry 4.0

Today we were visited by a group of Deusto Business School students from the degree in Business Administration and Management and the qualification in Digital Business Skills.

IKOR DEUSTO
In addition to gaining a detailed understanding of IKOR's manufacturing and logistics process and the supporting information and technology systems, the students looked deeper into the concept of Industry 4.0. IKOR has already carved a prominent position in this sector and is among the 100 most important EMS (Electronic Manufacturing Services) companies in the world, with manufacturing plants in San Sebastián, Guadalajara (Mexico) y Suzhou (China).

The case study “IKOR Business Case” will shortly be published as a result of this collaboration. It will set out and analyse IKOR’s path to the strategic implementation of information and technology systems which have transformed manufacturing processes and supported the global development of the company.

Thanks to collaborations like this, students of DBS get in-depth knowledge of information and communication technologies linked to the concept of Industry 4.0 (additive manufacturing, IoT, augmented reality, machine learning, etc.). They learn not only about the technology in question, but about its real and potential applications and its impact on different manufacturing and business sectors.

Thanks to this collaboration, students have the opportunity to deepen their knowledge of Industry 4.0 and to analyse the advantages, opportunities and value of potential business as well as how it impacts and transforms organisations.

We would like to thank the teachers and coordinators at Deusto Business School for their involvement, support and interest, both for the students and for making this type of collaboration possible. It is a great pleasure and responsibility for us to open up our business to the University, and we hope to continue doing so. Thank you!
